Our Founder

Adam Scott, CFP®

Founder & CEO

Growing up in England, Adam Scott's father taught him his first golden rule of investing: "A diversified portfolio must have at least eight stocks". Four years later, his father invested the families' entire life savings in one "sure thing".

And sure enough, it went bankrupt. The family lost everything.

Since then, Adam has looked back with appreciation for the investing lessons his father gave him, and maybe that one most of all: even the smartest people can make catastrophic mistakes handling their finances.

As a result of this experience, Adam developed a fascination for classic investment bubbles: The Tulip Mania of 17th Holland, and The South Sea Bubble in 18th England, both of which ensnared and devastated their respective nations for generations. These lessons remain starkly relevant in the modern economy. Drawn to investment theory, risk management, and investing behavior, Adam studied Economics at Bristol University, the think-tank for Margaret Thatcher's Economic Policy, and the UK leader in the burgeoning field of Monetarist Economic Theory.

Upon graduating with honors, he worked successfully as a Commodities Sugar and Coffee Trader at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in London. However, upon moving to Los Angeles he switched careers to the Entertainment Industry. In Entertainment, he found there was a great need for informed financial planning and advice. He developed a passion for financial planning: helping others, including successful Entertainment Professionals and Creative’s, manage their financial lives.

Adam became a partner at the LPL affiliated RIA, Westside Investment Management for the next decade. He gained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, professional  certification as well as the Series 7 and 66 investment licenses.

However, wanting to give clients the rare commodity of  conflict free comprehensive advice, without sales of products, and putting clients interest first,  Adam and some team members formed their own fee only Registered Investment Advisor firm,  Wellacre Wealth Management, LLC and Schwab platforms.

After a lifelong experience of studying market cycles, Adam developed a systematic investment and planning process, that is just as relevant today in preserving wealth as it was in 17th Century Holland.

Our Team

Doralee Cooehern, CFP®

Dora helps advise clients.  Dora is a Certified Financial Planner, professional and joined WellAcre from Park Piedmont Advisors of Chicago. Dora has a wealth of experience in this area.

Dora grew up on an organic family farm in Wisconsin.  While growing up on the farm, she was involved in 4-H and raising cattle almost like she had her own business.  She found that she liked the problem solving and finance part of business much more than she enjoyed farming.  This led her to study business in college and earn a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2008 with a double major in Finance and Entrepreneurship.

She began her career working for brokerage firms and big banks.  As she gained experience, she found that she ultimately wanted to work for a fiduciary and that she has a passion for financial planning.  Dora now has over 13 years of experience in the financial industry and is a Certified Financial Planner, professional.

When not helping individuals with their finances, she volunteers at the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation Champ Camp and enjoys running, traveling, sewing, and spending time with her niece and nephews.

Kim Creque

Kim’s background delivers over 20 years of experience in Financial Service providing back office support to the various needs of the Independent Financial Advisor. Kim began at MetLife in their Word Processing department in 1995. In 1998 she handled placing stock broker trades and client relations at Kirk Patrick Pettis.  In 2004 Kim joined ING’s Variable New Business department, processing life insurance applications and working closely with the underwriting department. Kim has extensive experience working in the RIA space.

Andrew Monn

Andrew Monn grew up in the Midwest, son to hard-working parents. He brings that same great down-to-earth attitude to helping clients. He started out in the Advertising world and became an account executive at a leading Los Angeles Advertising agency. There he developed the high-level organizational and communication skills that have made him such an invaluable asset at WellAcre Wealth. With so many moving parts he is adept at ensuring everyone understands what the next steps are to keep the ball moving, resulting in excellent client service.

After working in the Advertising industry, Andy took a break to raise his daughter and support his wife in her career. Andy also threw himself into volunteer work. It was there that Adam witnessed Andy's unique skills and determined to hire him.

Andy and his wife Jill have been clients of Adam for five years. Andy knew what a profound difference good wealth management and financial planning has made in his life. When Adam invited Andy to join the staff of WellAcre Wealth Management, he wanted to be there to help Adam and WellAcre do for others what was being done for his family. He is excited to know that he is assisting in creating generational wealth for WellAcre clients, instilling that same sense of security he feels himself.
