A History of Multiplying Good
Since our founding in 1972 by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Senator Robert Taft Jr., and Sam Beard, we have honored thousands of the country’s most significant trailblazers and changemakers, as well as more than 63,000 unsung heroes. Created during a time of widespread national discord, we have become synonymous with the power of public service and good in America. Our immersive training programs, activation opportunities, and prestigious awards platform helps individuals and organizations create change and multiply their impact in the community. Through corporate partnerships, we recognize the service of outstanding employees and help to build caring workplaces where everyone is committed to positive change. Through media partnerships, we recognize grassroots unsung heroes and tell their stories to more than 100 million Americans each year. In middle and high schools nationwide, we are empowering tens of thousands of young people to realize their potential, develop core 21st-century skills, and deliver a dramatic impact on the lives of those around them.
